DART

Disaster Area Response Team

After it is decided by the Disaster Task Force DePloyment Group that a DePloyment is warranted, the Disaster Task Force Disaster Area Response Team (DART) is activated.

As DART volunteers begin preparing for the DePloyment, the Pre-Deployment Group, working in coordination with the DePloyment Group, have already accurately calculated what supplies, gear and equipment are on-hand in the Disaster Task Force storage facility, and compared the information to the list of immediate needs created during the DePloyment Group’s natural disaster assessment process.

After these essential items are loaded for the DePloyment, a checklist is gone over by the DePloyment Group and the DART crewmembers to make certain everything is ready, and everyone is prepared expeditious, efficient and safe DePloyment.

DART crewmembers keep in constant communications with the DePloyment Control Center (DePCC) throughout the DePloyment, and are tracked live to ensure as safe a DePloyment as possible, and to make sure the DART crewmembers are following the safest, most direct route to the most affected areas.

With constant updates and coordination from the DePCC, DART crewmembers once at the location of a natural disaster, immediately begin distributing the essential items at an already established distribution center, or by establishing their own distribution site, in order to disperse the essential items to those who most need them, as quickly as possible.

Following the end of their on-location tasks, the DART volunteers continue keep in constant communications with, and remain being live tracked by, the DePCC to ensure safety and efficiency of the DePloyment continues until the DART crewmembers have returned.

Once the DART crew members return from their deployment, they hand over all paperwork, receipts, and deployment-related documentation to the Post-Deployment Group so a thorough audit of the DePloyment can be performed. The Post-DePloyment group then conducts a thorough audit of the entire DePloyment process. This audit helps to identify areas of improvement and ensures that the DePloyment process is refined and streamlined for the future. as well as providing documentation of where essential items are distributed.
